Alloy Steel
AISI 4140 / 42CrMo4
The benchmark chromium-molybdenum through-hardening engineering steel. Excellent combination of strength, toughness and machinability in the quenched and tempered condition.
AISI 4340 / 34CrNiMo6
Nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel with very high hardenability and toughness in heavy sections, chosen for the most highly stressed machined components.
Duplex & Super Duplex
Duplex 2205
The most widely used duplex grade. Roughly double the yield strength of 316L, allowing thinner and lighter sections while delivering far better chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance.
Super Duplex 2507
Super duplex with PREN above 40 for the most aggressive seawater and sour service. S32760 (Zeron 100) adds tungsten and copper for enhanced acid resistance.
Nickel Alloys
Inconel 625
Nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy strengthened by niobium. Exceptional strength and corrosion resistance from cryogenic temperatures to 980 C without heat treatment.
Inconel 600
Solid solution nickel-chromium-iron alloy with high resistance to oxidation, carburisation and chloride ion stress corrosion cracking at elevated temperature.
Monel 400
Nickel-copper alloy with outstanding resistance to flowing seawater, hydrofluoric acid and alkalis, and total immunity to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
Hastelloy C276
Nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with tungsten, regarded as the most universally corrosion resistant alloy available for both oxidising and reducing media.
Stainless Steel
304 / 304L
The workhorse austenitic stainless steel. 304L's lower carbon content prevents carbide precipitation during welding, making it the default choice for welded fabrications that cannot be post-weld annealed.
316 / 316L
Molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The 2-3% Mo addition transforms pitting resistance in chloride-bearing media, making 316L the baseline grade for marine and chemical service in the Gulf.
321 / 347
Titanium and niobium stabilised austenitic grades. The stabilising addition ties up carbon so the steel resists intergranular corrosion after prolonged exposure in the 425-815 C sensitisation range.
904L
High alloy austenitic grade with 4-5% molybdenum and copper, bridging the gap between 316L and nickel alloys for sulphuric and phosphoric acid service.
Titanium
Titanium Grade 2
Commercially pure titanium, the industry workhorse. Fully resistant to seawater and oxidising chlorides with excellent formability and weldability.
Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V)
The most widely used titanium alloy, accounting for the majority of all titanium consumption. Roughly three times the strength of commercially pure titanium at the same density.
